Who Can Use Pirate Ship
Official guidance indicates that users must live in the United States, and all postage purchased through the platform must originate from a US physical address. A US virtual mailbox address alone does not establish eligibility for someone living outside the country.
Software Fees and Postage Charges
The platform is completely free to use without monthly subscription fees, volume commitments, or platform markups on labels. However, users still pay for the actual postage they purchase through Pirate Ship, with offered rates depending on package dimensions, weight, and route.
Practical Label Workflow
Creating a label follows a straightforward web workflow before handing packages over to the carrier:
- Enter accurate package dimensions, weight, and sender and recipient addresses.
- Compare available USPS and UPS service options and pricing for that specific package.
- Buy and print the postage label through Pirate Ship and attach it to your parcel.
Working with Mailbox Services
Pirate Ship produces shipping labels but does not rent addresses, store packages, or forward mail. If you plan to ship from a mailbox provider, verify in advance that they accept external labels and note any separate handling fees they charge.
